Faces

Faces are everywhere. Plastered on walls. Perched over busy highways. Peeking out of storefronts. Painted in alleways. Peeling off the sides of buses. Waiting to be seen.

But, because of the sheer amount of communication that passes before us every day, we’ve been programmed to ignore these faces, conditioned to not see.

The faces exist to connect with us, to shock us, to sell us something, to inspire us, to move us to act. But more often than not, these faces fail to connect. Or even register. They become little more than urban wallpaper, meaningless decoration, hiding in plain site.

The faces call out to us as we pass. Come here, they say. Closer, they say. Look at us, they say. Look.

FACES is a collection and celebration of the faces we fail to see. These forgotten faces — taken from cities around the world — have been rescued and given a new home, where they will no longer be ignored.
